The Summer Challenge '26
Please open and read the following drop-down boxes to find out more:
How it works
It's simple: There is a ticklist of problems for you to try. You got 3 weeks. Send as many of those problems as possible to win the challenge...
But wait: Something is different this time...
- We wont show you the names, grades and setters of the problems. You just get the holds.
- (Names, grades and setters will be revealed after the comp.)
- Surprise yourself, challenge yourself, try those unknown problems...
- Expect the full range of difficulties... (6A+ ... ~8A)
- The lesser repeated problems will give you more points. (*)
- You can join anytime during the comp, no registration needed. Just log in and start ticking.
- The ticklist is revealed on Sat 11 Jul 2026, 00:00 UTC time, you can immediately start climbing.
- Ticking is possible till Sun 02 Aug 2026, 23:59 UTC time (that's three weeks).
(*)The points of each problem will constantly change during the comp depending on the number of repeats....
The points of a problem are calculated with the following formula:
- points = max_reps + 3*(max_reps - pb_reps)
- where max_reps = Number of repeats of the most-repeated problem
- and pb_reps = Number of repeats of the problem in question
How (not) to spoil it for yourself.
We believe the summer challenge format is more fun (and challenging) if you don't know the names and grades of the problems.
Most of the comp problems are already existing, highly rated problems and it would be easy to find out which problems you are trying. Thanks to the way
the app works, it is even possible to accidentally find out what the problems are.
If you want the full experience, please check the hints below to (not) spoil it for yourself.
How to (not) highlight the problems on the LED system
Don't try to store the problems as drafts.
If you enter the problems in the problem editor and then store them as drafts, the app will immediately display the name of the already existing problem
and wont let you store the problem. Even if you don't select "publish".
Alternative:
- Memorize the problem and don't use the LEDs... ;-)
- Use stickers or tape etc. to mark the holds.
- Select the LEDs in the editor but don't save.
(You need to log in to see the ticklist, rankings and to start ticking.)
