The second Global (Mini) Moonboard Session 2026 took place between 17th of January and 15th of February 2026.
This community-based fun climbing comp took place on the two Mini Moonboard setups (2020 + 2025) and for the first time also on the Moonboard 20204/40° setup.
A total of 88 climbers of all levels created 76 unique, creative, fun - but also challenging - competition problems for the participants and the rest of the community.
Will some of those problems be benchmarked? Given their quality - very likely!
On the first day of the comp, climbers were faced with randomly selected and personally assigned holds to be included in their comp problem. It was then their task to set a comp problem within 9 days (one week incuding the surrounding weekends) as their entry ticket into the competition.
All the participants tried to climb each others problems in order to win the climbing competition.
Climbers also had to rate each others problems. The rating was used to derive the problem ranking honoring the setters creativity.
As a new comp feature, climbers were automatically ranked in different "levels" depending on their hardest sends. Likewise, the comp problems were also sorted into levels.
Additionally, so-called bonus problems were automatically added after the setting phase to fill up gaps in the grade ladder so that climbers had more variety, especially in the easy grades, but also up to the highest grades. This new feature was especially greeted by climbers on the lesser travelled setups.
Overall, it was - again - a lot of fun! Thanks to everyone for taking part!
